Xbox Next-Gen Console Codenamed Magnus

Microsoft is developing its next-generation Xbox console codenamed Magnus for release between late 2026 and early 2027. The new system aims to significantly outperform current generation hardware.

Leaks suggest the console will target native 4K gaming at 120fps using AMD's RDNA 5 GPU and Zen 6 CPU. Performance is expected to be comparable to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card.

The console may utilize AMD's FSR upscaling technology for enhanced visual quality. Backwards compatibility for existing Xbox games is expected to be supported at launch.

Microsoft has confirmed no plans for an Xbox Series X Pro, focusing instead on next-generation innovation. Xbox President Sarah Bond emphasized the Series X remains the most powerful current console.

A new all-digital Xbox Series X variant called Brooklin is also in development. Microsoft is prioritizing cloud gaming and Game Pass expansion alongside new hardware development.
