Tesla has commenced production of the Cybercab robotaxi at Gigafactory Texas. The fully autonomous vehicle is designed without a steering wheel or pedals for complete self-driving.
The Cybercab will begin full-scale production in April 2026 with deliveries starting before 2027. Tesla aims to price the vehicle under $30,000 for mass market adoption.
The vehicle features distinctive gull-wing doors and inductive wireless charging technology. It uses Tesla's latest Full Self-Driving software for autonomous operation.
Tesla is already testing driverless rides in Austin using modified Model Y vehicles. The current robotaxi service will transition to Cybercabs as production ramps up.
A new Unboxed manufacturing method will enable production of up to five million Cybercabs annually. This innovative process assembles vehicles in separate modules for greater efficiency.
